MEET KATE CHILDREN'S HOME

The Meet Kate Children’s Home is located in Agona Swedru. The manager of the children’s home is Philomena Fynn. She has always had the dream and ambition to start this children’s home, but couldn’t gather the means. The Meet Kate Foundation was able to help her out in this area, and on August 7, 2010 we festively opened the Meet Kate Children’s Home.

The children’s home has room for 24 children between the ages of 0 to 18, for whom the family is (temporarily) unable to care. It offers the children a home, guided by house moms and dads. Besides a place to eat and sleep, the children’s home is a place where they can receive medical care and will have plenty of room to play and have fun. Children who are five years and above will attend the nearby primary school. The children who are younger than 5 years will attend the Meet Kate daycare center. 

The aim of the children’s home is to replace these children with their families within five years maximum, or have them adopted by other family members. Therefore, the Meet Kate Children’s Home will help parents in any way they can, for example by helping them find a job. For the children who cannot be placed back in their families, Meet Kate will keep taking care of them. A good education, quality food, a home and above all a family is what Meet Kate is giving these children.
